All 6 goldfish has now passed on.
With the dirty grimy hands in there non-stop the water went from clear to murky white/grey in 1 day. Not to mention that one of them was scooped out into a cup previously holding one of the kid's drink (milk, I believe?) and played with before returned to the tank after the 19th time I yelled to the kids to LEAVE THOSE FISH ALONE!
Well.. 1 less thing on my plate to worry about. And I have a "I told you so" stored up for the next time they don't listen to me....

We have a fish that we're waiting for to die (long story), I'll have to take notes ;-)
We had a beta fish in VA that lived for 3 years with the same abuse. So not exactly sure I can tell you how to get rid of them, but I'm guessing that the amount of food and grimy hands and handling of the fish didn't help them.
Oh.. and the fact I put them outside at dinner time because I'd had enough of the kids playing with them and not listening and fish grimmy water at the kitchen table is just.. ewww.. so they might have gotten a little too cold since I forgot them there for about 3 hours and it gets pretty cool here when the sun goes down >;-)
