Another week passed

And this past week I finally got our taxes done and filed.
Can you spell P-R-O-C-R-A-S-T-I-N-A-T-I-O-N?

We "showed" the house to someone this weekend. My fingers are crossed that this is "the one" and that we don't have to actually use a real estate agent and go through the fun of trying to keep the house clean with 4 kids, much less 4 kids and a home business.

Let's see- what other fun things happened this week:

Oh, yes. The water pipe from the water heater broke and flooded the basement. Yes, that was fun. We have(had) cardboard boxes upon cardboard boxes down there of our inventory.
I went down to grab the last box to take to Fedex and heard water running. Yes, RUNNING- like a river-rushing-after-spring-rains sound. And stepped in a puddle on the floor. a big one.

Grumbled (well, maybe cursed) in my head about the kids leaving the water running- around the corner to the bathroom- everything is off.
Thinking- oh, no, they left something on upstairs and it's running into the basement- race up and ...nope water off and floor dry.

Oh. Crap.

Move the PILES of stuff to get to the closet holding the water heater, getting closer and closer to the water running sound and it's a literal shower in there.

THIS is one for the experts. Call Larry (on his new/unwased) cell phone. "when are you coming home?"
"why?"
"water pipe is broken"
"oh" (then silence)

Fast forward- he stops at a plumbing supply place, gets the parts, comes home and has it almost fixed when I climb the step stool to look, loose my balance and grab hold of the pipe and .. it cracks in a new place (says something for how sturdy it is, huh?)
He goes back, gets more parts, but we didn't have the right tool to crimp it down.

And you know what? a guy who works there offered to get his tool and stop by the house to crimp it for us.
What a nice guy. He did come and I am eternally grateful for running water.
